About Prof. Oskari Heikinheimo
Prof. Heikinheimo is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Helsinki and Physician-in-Chief in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Helsinki University Hospital.
He active in several international scientific and professional organizations and clinical guideline development groups. He is the immediate past President of the Nordic Federation of the Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology and of the Finnish Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
His current research activities include improvement and optimization of abortion care and postabortion contraception (especially intrauterine contraception), endometriosis and benign gynecology, and teenage pregnancy.
Prof. Heikinheimo has served as an Editor for Human Reproduction Update, BMJ Sexual & Reproductive Health, and the Finnish medical journal Duodecim.
