About the Women’s Health Academy

Our vision

We believe in a world where women are

visible
and
heard
,
well understood, informed, empowered, autonomous
, and
feel confident
, from puberty to menopause and beyond.

We see the world as a place where women are listened to and

don’t suffer in silence, where they can access the health care, information, and knowledge
they need to make choices that are right for them. A place where health care providers are aware of their needs, are proactive in raising issues, and are confident in offering treatment options.

Our mission

As the Women’s Health Academy, we will address the issues that restrict women’s access to health care. This includes providing the information and tools to build their knowledge by

challenging taboos, championing best practice, prioritizing women’s voices, and supporting the next generation of health care providers

On our platform, we will share guidance, knowledge, and findings of well-conducted research to build best practice, empowering the wider community to achieve desired care outcomes in reproductive health and menopause while enabling personalized choice.

Guiding principles

The Women’s Health Academy
is a multidisciplinary, international group of experts who have come together to better reproductive and menopause outcomes for women. It is funded and facilitated by Bayer but operated by an independent Steering Committee who retain decision-making authority on the scope, methods, analysis of findings, and dissemination of the outputs and projects undertaken.

Inclusivity

“Women’s Health”
embodies the physical and spiritual aspects of sexual and reproductive health for all genders, including those who are trans or nonbinary.

The term “women”
is used to encompass individuals who identify as women, as well as those who may not identify within the traditional gender binary but still identify with womanhood. This usage is intended to be inclusive and respectful of all individuals who identify with the experiences and perspectives commonly associated with womanhood. We acknowledge and recognize the diversity of gender identities and strive to be inclusive in our language.
