About Prof. Giovanni Grandi
Prof. Grandi is an Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences for Children and Adults, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He additionally works as a gynecologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Modena. In this department, he is Head of the Preventive and Hereditary Gynecological Oncology Clinic and of the Family Planning Clinic.
Prof. Grandi’s research focuses on gynecological endocrinology, hormonal contraception in difficult cases, the prevention of gynecological cancers, and oncogenetic counseling. Since 2022, he has been Editor-in-Chief of The European Journal of Contraception & Reproductive Health Care. From 2014–2016, he was elected a member of the Expert Group on Sexual Medicine and Sex Education and, from 2019, of the Internal Scientific Committee of The European Society of Contraception and Reproductive Health. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Italian Society of Contraception.
In 2016, 2017, and 2020, he was elected best reviewer for Obstetrics & Gynecology (The Green Journal). In 2024, he won the Diczfalusy Young Scientist Award in Szeged, Hungary, for his significant research record in the field of reproductive health. He receives frequent invitations to be an ad hoc reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
