About Prof. Agnaldo Lopes

Prof. Lopes is Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He holds a PhD in Gynecology from São Paulo State University and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Porto in Portugal. He currently serves as Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and as Scientific Director of the Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Associations (FEBRASGO), with membership in the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Committee on Post-Menopausal Women. He has over two decades of experience dedicated to advancing women’s health, with a strong focus on gynecological oncology and minimally invasive gynecological surgery.

Prof. Lopes’s past leadership roles include serving as President of FEBRASGO (2020–2023) and Director of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) (2022–2023). His membership in prestigious societies such as AAGL, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology complements a career marked by the authorship or co-authorship of more than 300 scientific articles, the coordination of 20 scientific books, and the holding of seven medical technology patents. He is actively engaged in research, with contributions to the development of global guidelines for women’s health.
